Abstract

The aim of this study was the effectiveness of a targeted training program on motor skills in girls with attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder associated with developmental coordination disorder. The research method was quasi-experimental. The statistical population was female elementary school students in Zabol city that 30 students were selected by voluntary sampling based on inclusion criteria. To diagnose the comorbidity of these two disorders, SNAP rating scale, clinical interview, Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire and Bruininks-Oseretsky motor test were used. The motor test score was used as a pre-test and post-test score. Participants were randomly divided into control and experimental groups. The experimental group participated in 18 sessions of 60-minute training. Data analysis was performed using covariance test at the significant level of 0.05. The results showed that the targeted training program had a significant effect on all subscales of gross motor skills of the Bruininks-Oseretsky test (P <0.05). But despite the improvement of all fine motor skills subscales, it only showed a significant effect on the speed and agility of the upper limbs (P = 0.01). These results showed that targeted training program improve the motor skills of these students, especially in gross motor skills.
