Identifying stages, effective factors, results and strategies of Iranian football talent management

Abstract

The purpose of the current research was to identify and prioritize the stages of Iran's football talent management and to identify the effective factors, the results and provide logical strategies for it.

Methodology: The research was qualitative and the method was grounded theory. Data collection was done using library studies as well as semi-structured interviews. The participants of the research were 19 experts of football talent management in three fields of science, management and executive, and the selection of samples was purposeful and using the snowball method. The interviews continued until theoretical saturation was reached. The research findings were analyzed through the coding process in three open, axial and selective stages.

Findings: A total of 13 stages were identified for the talent management of Iranian football.

Considering the factor of age and the stages of human development and the opinions of the participants, these stages were logically prioritized, which are respectively: attraction to football talent management programs, general development (basic), general evaluation, specialized development (talent development), evaluation and identification and selection of talents, professional development, evaluation and identification and selection of professional players, Employing as a professional player, maintaining professional players, developing professional players, value creation of professional players, supporting professional players, employing after withdrawal from playing football. Also, the age conditions, effective factors, strategies and results of each stage were specified in detail.

Conclusion: although the stages of developing talents and evaluating and identifying them are important in the direction of the country's football talent management, but without creating attraction in the audience, maintaining and supporting talents and professional players and paying attention to their value creation quality for self and society, and on the other hand, knowing and managing the factors affecting the process, it is not possible to achieve all its valuable personal and social consequences.
