Situational game-based teaching method: A challenge for traditional model in tactical knowledge and enjoyment of physical activity

Abstract

Background&Purpose: The purpose of the present study was to determine the effect of traditional training and situational game models on tactical knowledge and enjoyment of physical activity in soccer.

Methodology: The subjects of the study included 24 boys in football school with a mean age of 73/0±11 . The research was consisted of four stages of pre-test, two-way training, traditional and situational game model, post-test and delayed retention. Practices of Situational game include education Based on the game-based model and consisted of 5 stages.

Results: The results of analysis of variance with repeated measurements and independent T-test showed that tactical knowledge of situational game and that Physical activity enjoyment scores group was more than traditional group.

Conclusion.Based on the findings of the present study, it is recommended that the individual, activity and environment should be considered as an integrated unit instead of separable components. Because the closer the training conditions are to the main conditions, the more learning takes place This creative model in the present study has been able to create these conditions and cause the development of tactical knowledge and enjoyment of physical activity. Therefore, it is recommended that sports coaches use the situational game model more for sports classes and creating interest among students, because this model with game scenarios is a creative educational model that is provided for teaching sports in physical education classrooms
