Developing a Theoretical Model of Strategies and Consequences of Recreational Sports Participation Among Iranian Ethnic Groups

Abstract

Objective: The aim of present study is to determine strategies and consequences of Participation of recreational sports of Iranian ethnic groups.

Methodology: The study is an exploration research and is considered as qualitative conducted sequentially. For gathering data study high level documents and individual and semi-structured interview were conducted to collect data with 18 scholars about the field of physical education and cultural. The sample selected through subjective sampling and snowball approach and interviewing continued to get theoretical saturation. The validity of this research was examined and approved by the interviewers and then expert professors. The reliability was %84 which obtained through using the methodology of auditing result process.Then, data analyzed by grounded theory in coding process included three steps: open, axial and selective coding.

Results: The result revealed that there were 73 effective factors in strategies consisted of 17 components: advertising and marketing, media promotion, direct and indirect education of ethnic sport, supportive and incentive strategies, interaction with other iranian ethnic groups, cultural and sports festivals, legislative and structural requirements, basic research and pivotal program, equality sport and gender, globalization of recreational sport, recreational sport facilities and natural spaces in seven main entries. Also, consequences categorized into 6 subcategories and 3 main categories of economic, individual and social and cultural development were classified.

Conclusion: Generally, according to findings, proposed strategies and consequences could be claimed that help government officials to improve quality of life of ethnic groups and create social justice in sport of the provinces and get development and improvement in of recreational sport.
